Lesley was born in Kingston but spent her early life being brought up in Malden.
She attended Burlington Secondary School, but left just after she was fifteen.
One of the two subjects she failed to receive a pass in when leaving was Art, however she always had a desire to paint.
It was after her youngest son was born she started to try oil painting, it took her three years to learn how to mix colours but she persevered and her first painting was of The Rocky Mountains on a dull day in pink.
She then went on to join night classes to be with other artists and to learn as much as she could, she enjoys all mediums with the exception of pastels which she found did not suit her.
Lesley now prefers to paint in Oils and Acrylics, she likes bright colours, she says she likes to look at the subject for a while and this tells her which media it needs to be painted in.
She has exhibited in local exhibitions with moderate success but tends to sell more paintings privately, she did however win an award at one of the local exhibitions a couple of years ago.
