The Christmas Social and Annual Awards evening on the 12th December was attended by three dozen members this year, a slightly lower figure than normal, this was due to the extremely cold weather that evening. However those who attended had an enjoyable evening with an amazing array of food supplied by those attending with wine and soft drinks supplied by the club.

The Awards this year were presented to.. Margo Clift for Best Watercolour ,(voted for by visitors to the Annual Exhibition).... Best Non-Watercolour to Joy Martin.... Best picture in Exhibition, again to Joy Martin. ....
A special prize for the help he has given on Club nights went to Jim Patching.

hello to all members who have work featured on our professional gallery PBASE

May I advise you that the capacity of the PBASE gallery is truly gigantic, we do not stand a chance of filling it if we put all the members of WAC on there 100 times over, so let me assure you we have plenty of space!

Now having said that I would like to extend to all members with work already on PBASE an invitation to submit your PHOTOS for display on PBASE

Each member in this category may submit up to 20 photos but please make sure the photos are at least 1000 in width

    EXAMPLES OF PHOTOS ANTICIPATED
  • HOLIDAY
  • FAMILY SCENES
  • DAYS OUT
  • OTHER ARTISTS
  • YOUR PETS

PLEASE EMAIL YOUR PHOTOS TO DAVE POW

lastly, I asked DP when the next demo was, he replied "next demo is on 7th November Michael Robinson (pen/ink/pencil ) Portraiture from Photographs"

The next Demonstration will be held on the 3rd October.select to enter Peter Buckey site

This month we invite back one of my favourite artists Peter Buckey.

Peter will be demonstrating a Marine painting in Gouache, a medium not many of us use. However once we have seen his demo, I am sure he will convert many of us to give it a try.

This Demo will begin, as usual around 7-15pm at Elm Grove Hall and will be sponsored by The Robert Phillips Trust.

Why not come along and enjoy what promises to be a lively and memorable evening.

A 50 strong audience came along to the “Pen & Wash” demonstration by Jonathan Newey on Wednesday evening, it was good to see a number of new faces in the audience, who hopefully will become new members.

the 50 strong audience on 5 SEP

Once the summer vacations have finished I feel sure that the next Demo on the 3rd Oct will see an increase in numbers as a lot of our members are still on holiday. Thank you all for coming, don't forget to bring along your watercolours next week, and we can see how much you have all improved while we've been away. DAVE
